Description
The global warming is a serious social problem. Therefore, automobile industries must develop clean energy vehicles without the greenhouse effect gas. So fuel cells and hydrogen are expected as new power systems and fuel. In this study, the authors propose ammonia as a fuel of fuel cells for automobiles. Because ammonia is not including hydrocarbon, CO_2 and CH_4 are not generated from cracked ammonia. And ammonia is easily cracked to H_2 and N_2 with heat energy. The authors also designed the ammonia cracking system and cracked ammonia fueled FCEV. Ammonia has possibilities as liquid fuel for an ammonia cracking system fueled for automobiles in a clean and sustainable society in the future.
