Abstract
This paper proposes a new learning strategy for media literacy utilizing mobile media. To construct the learning strategy, the authors practiced "mutual introduction workshops" using pictures taken by the learners with their cell phones' camera function. In the workshop, the learners analyzed self images represented in the pictures, brought to light their unconscious intentions, and deepened understanding of the relationships with the media. The change of the learners' understanding of cell phones through consideration of social context was observed. The essence of the learning strategy obtained from the results is the cycle of the learner comparing their own viewpoints to social context. This awareness reconstructs the learners' viewpoints. It is thought that critical analytical ability of information regarding mobile media can be improved by the repetition of this cycle.
