Description

In this paper the writer logically examines and makes proposals about the significance of art management methods as a new area of art education. He applys this research in making educational materials for two projects with contemporary artists and observes the possibilities of comprehensive art education arising in the process. In this article, the writer reports on a new applied research project, a joint educational project carried out with the Hokkaido Museum of Modern Art, in parallel with the research, which systematically examines the educational process from planning to execution of an exhibition at a public art museum. Making the division of "Phase A: Confronting Artworks" and "Phase B: Confronting Others (Society)," the author argues the significance of art management methods in art appreciation education with "transfer of learning" as a keyword.
