抄録

Recently, it is one of technical trends to develop new flight simulators for small size of aircrafts in airline industry. In conventional type of full flight simulators, the Stewart platform type of parallel mechanism is used as a motion platform. However it is difficult to reproduce dynamic motion for small size of aircrafts by the conventional type of the motion platform. A rotational type of tripod parallel mechanism which has three legs rotating on ground has been proposed and developed for the new flight simulator. The new parallel mechanism can achieve six degrees of freedom by linear actuators and rotary actuators. A scale model of the new parallel mechanism is designed and manufactured to analyze workspaces and to evaluate optimal design parameters. The analytical results show that the new parallel mechanism has larger workspace than the Stewart platform type of parallel mechanism.
