Description

A7N01 alloy is utilized in high-speed train because of its good formability and weldability. The weight reduction of these vehicles is possible by improving the strength of these materials. This study examined the effect of the mechanical properties of fine grain structures which are formed by a combination of heat treatment and severe plastic deformation such as forging and rolling and the role of fine grain structure to plastic formability. As a result, 0.2% proof stress and tensile strength of heat treatment and multi-axial alternative forging (MAF) processed materials showed both more than 450MPa. For these material, further cold rolled in addition, 0.2% proof stress and the tensile strength shows more than 500MPa together. In order to improve the strength on A7N01 alloy, it was confirmed that grain refinement of structure was effective.
