<p>An impinging jet has good heat transfer characteristics, and thus, it is widely used in industry for the thermal management of heating devices. However, very few studies have focused on the heat transfer field between an impinging jet and a Couette flow. Thus, we studied the heat transfer of an impinging jet interfering with a Couette flow through direct numerical simulations. Using this numerical simulation, we studied the effects of the jet angle to the Couette flow, and the flow velocity ratio between the Couette flow and the jet. The jet flows to the Couette flow at an angle. We determined when the jet flows orthogonally or counter to the Couette flow, the vortex structure becomes unstable and irregular. However, when the jet flows in the direction of the Couette flow, the vortex structure becomes stable and the heat transfer fields show strong symmetry about the spanwise direction of the Couette flow. We attempted two types of flow velocity ratios, and this behavior was observed in both of them.</p>
