抄録

We aimed to develop the tactile display which can display graphic information and animation. We used solenoid as an actuator. Solenoid makes the pins up when electrical current applied. Tactile display which produced are 10pins lengthwise and 8pins crosswise. Palpating is done with eight fingers except the pollex of both hands put on the tactile display. First, the optimum conditions to present the image and animation information were measured. Next, the animation of the weather was presented as part of a natural thing that it was not possible to touch directly. The experiment did to six blind subjects and ten sighted subjects, and compared the results. The result suggested that the tactile sense of blind subjects is significantly sensitive than sighted subjects. And, the character and animation information have been found being able to be presented.
