Description
CVT has a potential to present comfortable cruising, powerful acceleration, fuel economy and improvement of exhaust-gas emission because it can change a speed ratio continuously and smoothly. Especially CVT using the traction drive which transmits power making use of the high hardness rolling elements and the lubricating oil, turning at full speed being possible, even strength from the fact that it is predominant in comparison with belt system CVT, in the future, will be developed in many fields. Then, this paper aimed at investigating about the determination method of the normal force, which influences a transfer performance greatly at the time of designing the traction drive system CVT, and the improvement method of the transfer performance by change of the form of rolling elements. As a result, it made axial thrust fixed and load torque is changed, it could decide optimum normal force. And, as for using the loading cam, which is designed from optimum normal force, and changing the radius of axial direction of the rolling elements, in order to make loss decrease, it was verified that it is effective in the improvement of performance.
