- OS1226 金単結晶ナノロッドの引張特性評価
Abstract
In order to evaluate tensile properties of nano-mateirals, a new test method is developed. The method is applied to a single crystalline gold (Au) nano-rod with a square section of 189 nm. In a specimen, the nano-rod is mounted on a lozenge-shaped silicon flame and is pulled by a compressive load on the top face of the flame. In-situ TEM observation indicates that rapid decrease of applied load corresponds to crystallographic slip generation in the nano-rod. The critical resolved shear stress on the primary slip system at yielding is evaluated to be 325.8 MPa, which is about 600 times larger than that of bulk.
