Description
Ni-based brazing filler metal generally are used for their corrosion resistance and high temperature service properties. One of factors witch should be considered when selecting a Ni-based brazing filler metal is metallurgical compatibility (especially joint strength) with the base metals being joined. However, there are insufficient data about joint strength of the specimen brazed with various Ni-based brazing filler metals. Austenitic stainless steel was brazed with 10 types of Ni-based filler metals in this study. And joint strength was estimated with shear strength. 8 of 10 fillers had been classified with JIS (Japan Industrial Standard) and 2 of 10 fillers were new type filler metals in this study. One of new type fillers is Ni-30Cr-6P-4Si. Another of them is Ni-11Cr-9P-10Cu. Maximum shear strength of the specimen which was brazed with "Ni-30Cr-6P-4Si" filler metal was obtained in this study.
