Abstract
The Uehara cycle and the Kalina cycle are used ammonia/water mixture as working fluid for Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC). On the other hand, the characteristic and the performance of these systems are not clear by experiment. In this paper, the characteristic and performance of OTEC system using Uehara cycle were discussed by stable continuously running of the 30kW OTEC plant. The constant conditions of the experiment were the turbine power 30kW, the warm source inlet temperature 29℃ and the cold source inlet temperature 8℃. As a result, the cycle thermal efficiency was about 1.5% on the stable stage for about seven hours.
