Description
The development of a high-performance woody biomass combustion device becomes to be important, from the standpoint of the effective use of woody biomass. Woody biomass combustion is more complex and more difficult to control than gas or liquid fuel combustion due to its high combustibility and low thermal conductivity. For this reason, we propose a new combustion technique where the combustion process is divided into two stages: pyrolytic and surface combustion process. In this study, the mechanism and characteristics of the two-stage combustion are investigated.
