Abstract
The Uehara cycle utilizes ammonia/water mixture as working fluid. For the efficient ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) system, nonazeotropic mixtures were utilized as working fluid. This paper describes the effect of mass fraction of ammonia on the cycle. As a result, the overall heat transfer coefficient of evaporator and condenser were increased with evaporator inlet mass fraction of ammonia. And that increased the turbine power out put and cycle thermal efficiency. Consequently, the influence of the additional water on the system was less effective for our plant in this experimental condition. Since we should improve the system to advantage of the mixture.
