This paper describes a study on the surface durability of rolled sintered metal rollers. Sintered metal rollers were rolled under various amount of rolling using plunge feed type and axial intersection type rolling machines. The effect of rolling on the surface property was examined by measuring hardness and void rates near roller surfaces. Contact fatigue tests for these rolled sintered metal rollers were carried out. The effects of the rolling method and the amount of rolling on the surface durability of sintered metal rollers were determined, and these results were compared with the results for rollers as sintered.
