抄録

"Flight Management Skill" for jet airliner pilots is an experience-based skill that airline pilots should manage for flight safety, for fuel saving economy, for punctual flight operation and for passenger comfort. To evaluate this experience-based skill, experiments were conducted using full-flight simulator. Examinees who attended the experiment were 2 experienced captains and 2 novice co-pilots. The scenario used is the one for which the pilots have to make difficult decision in normal flight. The examinee's utterance, flight path, and remaining fuel were measured. Interview was also made with them. The examinee's reasons of decision making were sorted out in a form of time line and their decision trees. From these results, differences of "Flight Management Skill" between experienced captains and novice copilots are discussed.
