Abstract
A humanoid robot doesn't have general-purpose hardware that becomes a de facto standard that corresponds to IBM PC/AT in the personal computer. In the personal computer, the software environment has evolved in dramatic form by the appearance of general-purpose hardware that becomes a standard. WR-X is hardware for a super high performance, general-purpose robot that can adjust to all of kinds of robots including a humanoid robot. WR-X is divided in each module. Therefore, it is possible to adjust to the robot in various forms by combining each module. Moreover, WR-X is open to the public of all information on the Internet.
