抄録

As a part of the percussion drilling test of mine rocks using the drop hammer type drilling test machine, studies of the shape of a notch formed by an impact blow have been carriedout.<BR>A notch formed by adding an impact of chisel-shaped bit is a triangle-wedgeshaped or crater-shaped slot. These shapes are related to the physical properties of rocks and the mechanism of rock failure. Slots are classified into some groups by the shape.<BR>1. crater-shaped slot by elastic shear action.<BR>2. triangle-wedge-shaped slot by plastic pressaction.<BR>3. intermediate slot by both actions of 1. and 2.<BR>4. special case.
