抄録

The mixtures of synthetic copper ferrite, sulfide (either of pyrite concentrates, copper concentrates, or pyrrhotite), silica, and lime have been melted at 1200-1300°C in a current of nitrogen in order to determine if copper ferrite in calcine could be reacted satisfactorily with sulfide concentrates.<BR>It has been show that the amount of SO2 evolved during the reaction and the composition of quenched matte and slag agreed approximately with the expected values. Thus, copper ferrite seems to react very rapidly with sulfide and change perfectly into copper matte. Copper loss in slag in the smelting of the mixed charge of calcine with concentrates would be not more than that of the wet charge smelting, if they were properly fluxed to produce a good slag and blended uniformly.<BR>Observations on theiron oxides in copper matte and slag are also given.
