抄録

Better milling procedure has been intensively investigated since the inauguration of Japan Atomic Fuel Corp.(JAFC). As a result, the “;Conversion Process” has been developed, which eliminated several processing steps by integrating a part of both milling and refining steps. The pilot plant based on conversion process is scheduled to be constructed at Ningyo-toge area.<BR>JAFC has operated pilot refinery adopting the Excer process for over four years, also. Problems associated with the product quality were satisfactority solved during the first two years. Since then, efforts were mostly devoted to raise the overall recovery of uranium to possible attainable value by improving main circuit and by establishing secondary circuits. At present, it may well be said the pilot refinery is getting close to its mission and waiting for being scaled up.
