抄録

Two galena samples from Kansas and Kamioka whose electric properties were known, were subjected to the measurement of leaching rate in acidic ferric chloride solutions, with or without thermal treatment at low temperature below 350°C.<BR>The principal results obtained are as follows.<BR>1) The oxidative leaching rate of Kamioka ganela is enhanced by thermal treatment at low temperatures, while that of the Kansas galena is retarded significantly.<BR>2) The leaching reaction of galena is mainly characterized by elemental sulfur formation.<BR>3) Overall reaction of the oxidative leaching of galena in ferric chloride solutions is controlled by a chemical reaction step and the rate equation is given by the following equation.<BR>R=Z ·exp (-Ea/RTAPbS ·[Fe2+]<BR>4) The changes of oxidative leaching rate of galenas are directly related by the changes of their electric properties.
