Description
There has been increasing interest in the relevance of virtue ethics approach to business over the past 20 years. Robert Solomon who is subject to this article made a significant contribution to raising the profile of virtue approach to business ethics. One of the most unique claims in his theory is that he perceived the corporation as community on the basis of Aristotelean virtue ethics. Although the idea of the “corporation as community” plays a central role of Solomon’s theory, few studies have focused on this concept. The purpose of this article is to grasp a general picture of Solomon’s conception of the corporation as community and to consider the significance and some problems of his claims.
