Shopping online has become attractive recently. More and more people participate in online auctions. Due to the popularity of online auction, this study intends to explore the possible factors that affect the transactions in online auctions, where the MP3 players in the auction of Yahoo! Taiwan as the target. Both logistic regression and decision tree are applied for analysis. In addition to the comparison of performance by both methods, an interesting phenomenon concerning the successful and failed transactions is also identified.
