Description

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the following issues; 1 ) France has come out now second next to USA in the agricultural exports. The CAP of EC (variable import levies and export refunds) certainly contributed to French striking growth. 2 ) Family farms, traditionally main form of agricultural production in France, have increased importance within farm structure. However it is important to note that the managing way of family farms has been changing, mainly under the effect of reduction of the number of household members engaged in agriculture, as can be seen typically by recent rising of "one man farm". 3 ) French agriculture and family farms should be mostly influenced by the current reform of CAP and by the results of negotiations in GATT Urugay Round, particularly by the way of solving the conflicts with USA.
