Description
Effects of bradykinin and des-Arg9-bradykinin on rat polymorphonuclear leucocyte (PMNL) emigration were assayed by the modified Boyden chamber method. the ability of des-Arg9-bradykinin of PMNL emigration was about one-half of that of bradykinin in the concentration range of 10-8M to 10-6M. The kininase II-hydrolyzate of bradykinin had only a little ability on PMNL emigration at both concentrations of 10-6M and 10-7M. On the other hand, the kininase II-hydrolyzate of des-Arg9-bradykinin, and Ser-Pro-Phe, which is a hydrolyzing product of des-Arg9-bradykinin by this enzyme, induced the PMNL emigration at 10-6M. These results suggest a possibility that des-Arg9-bradykinin and Ser-Pro-Phe participate in PMNL emigration in inflammatory processes.
