Abstract

In structure-based drug discovery, consideration should be given to conformational dynamics of target proteins and ligand molecules. NMR can provide detailed information on conformational dynamics of biomolecules in various spatial and time scales. In particular, paramagnetic effects offer useful probes for NMR detecting global conformational interchanges of biomolecules. This article outlines current research topics in NMR structural biology underscoring these technical advantages and their potential applications to the drug discovery based on inspection of biomolecular dynamics.
