Description

Recently, in the world, industry4.0 is taking place. Japan suffers from shortages of personnel by the decreasing working age population, and food loss and waste is a problem that should be solved. Meteorology has relationships with various industries and can be used to make physical predictions. In this project, we improved the precision of weather forecast and demand forecast by using the technology of AI (Artificial Intelligence), and carried out pilot experiments for energy conservation by sharing demand forecasts with members of the supply chain. Our experiment had 3 results:1. improved precision of demand forecast by approximately 30%, and reduced food loss of Tofu;2. reduced unused stock of hiyashi-chuka by 20% by forecasting the final production amount; and3. promoted a modal shift and improved the economic operation of ship systems, reducing carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 48%.
