Abstract

In a conventional carburetor which has a slow fuel system branched from downstream of a main jet, back bleed phenomenon, that is, air bleed from slow fuel system to main fuel system, is accured in full load condition. This phenomenon makes pricise fuel metering of the carburetor difficult, therefore makes driving performance worse in this condition. This paper discusses the condition of occurrence of back bleed analytically and experimentally. And the practical methods of suppression of the back bleed phenomenon are proposed and the effects of this method are confirmed experimentally.
