Abstract

A technique to control the bubble size and frequency about small or micro bubble was examined experimentally. A feature of this technique is to adopt an audio speaker for the addition of the pressure or flow oscillation to the gas flow in the nozzle. In this paper, the bubble detaching process from a nozzle and the effectiveness for the both systems of single nozzle and multi nozzles were described. As a result, it was made clear that the gas flow oscillation was the dominant factor in the bubble formation process, and the present technique could control with high accuracy the bubble frequency, bubble detaching time and bubble size over the wide range of condition. It was also clear that this technique could apply to the simultaneous bubble formation from nozzles submerged in different depth.
