説明

Barbituric acid nucleus has many active sites toward methylation with diazomethane. We carried out the methylations of barbituric aicd and its N-methyl, 5-alkyl and 5, 5-dialkyl derivatives. Methylation positions which varied with the substrate were found mainly by nuclear magnetic resonance measurement.
