In the middle volume of the Kurabiraki chapter of Utsuho Monogatari, Nakatada Fujiwara, a successor of Chinese zither (a long Chinese zither with seven strings) delivers a lecture in the presence of the Suzaku Emperor, and in the last chapter, Rou-no-ue, there is a presentation of songs passed down in secret by the successors families. This paper calls the former an exhibition of "scholarship", the latter an exhibition of "Chinese zither". By comparing these two exhibitions it will be found that they have three common traits; the use of incense, a sense of space, and presentation with a specific time signature. And it will also be found that both exhibitions are subdivided in time in a space filled with a unique incense. This indicates that the two exhibitions have similar structures. The exhibition of "scholarship" must precede "Chinese zither" because the lineage of the zither becomes visible only after the lineage of "scholarship" is recognized by the Emperor. And so, both exhibitions must be performed in the presence of the Emperor.
