Abstract

In this paper, I regard - chohen shishu Niigata - written by Kimu Shijon as the poetry as testimony. Especially, I focus on "the ships" in Part II in which Cheju April 3rd Massacre in 1948, which he got engaged, comes under close scrutiny. He embodies his willingness to engage the historic event as "the ships". That is why it personifies the poetic principle. Therefore, "the ships" give witness through the poems, but at the same time, it testifies the impossibility of witness.
