Abstract
Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were screen-sprinted on a patterned indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate and irradiated using an ultra violet (UV) laser. The emission characteristics of screen-printed CNTs were tested with a diode structure with a spacer of 125 μm. The electron emission current increased from 10 μA to 300 μA, and the turn-on voltage decreased from 360 V to 320 V with laser irradiation, corresponding to an electric field from 3.6 V/μm to 3.2 V/μm. The emission sites were also increased with laser irradiation. CNT samples, deposited on the Al film by electrophoresis, were also irradiated with an UV laser, giving rise to a slight increase in emission current with few increases in the numbver of emission sites.
