説明

Information of corrosion products release from structural materials is useful for radiatign control in reactor systems. In BWR, feedwater heater tubings are made of SUS 304 stainless steel which usually contains Co about 0.2% in weight. The influence of dissolved oxygen and dissolved hydrogen on corrosion products release from SUS 304 stainless steel was studied in high purity water at 160°C which corresponds to the temperature of high pressure feed water heater of BWR. The experiments were carried out in a test loop, which is able to simulate BWR feedwater chemistries. The selective release of Fe component was accelerated by addition of hydrogen, but the release of Fe component was interrupted by addition of oxygen. The selective release of Co, Ni and Cr components occurred in oxygenated water containing above 9ppm oxygen. Chromate ion was observed in water containing above 400ppb oxygen. The value of pH increased in case of deoxygenated water containing saturated hydrogen or below 5ppb oxygen, but decreased in case of oxygenated water containing above 9ppm oxygen.
