Abstract

In this paper, the corrosion behavior of aluminum alloys 6063 and 1050 was investigated in several aqueous solutions of NaCl, HCl, H2SO4 and NaOH and water passed through a concrete slab. The corrosion behavior of aluminum was measured by the two methods: 1. electrochemical polarization curve method 2. electrochemical impedance method. The experimental results from the two methods are shown from Fig. 2 to Fig. 6. Corroding aluminum have three different types of polarization curves which depend on the ions contained by the aqueous solution. From the polarization curves however it is difficult to distinguish the corrosion behavior between 6063 Al alloy and 1050 Al alloy. On the contorary, it is possible to find out clear difference in the Bode diagrams between 6063 and 1050 Al alloys measured by the electrochemical impedance method.
