Description

Low melting ash corrosion, condensed sulfuric acid corrosion and air pollution are main problems associated with residual fuel firing boilers and gas turbines. Effects of various organic and inorganic additives as a inhibitor on the combustion related problems have been studied in laboratories and actual environments. This paper described the effectiveness of magnesium based additives against gas side corrosion, chemical reactions of additives with corrosive components in fuel and characteristics of compounds formed, behavior of injected additives and fuel components in boilers and gas turbines.
