説明

The results of some studies on carbenicillin were summarized as follows: 1. The M. I. C. 's of carbenicillin for 47 strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were in the range 25 to 200 mcg/ml, 24 strains were 50 mcg/ml, by plate dilution method. 2. Following an intravenous administration 20 m g/kg in dogs, blood levels, binary and urinary /124 CHEMOTHERAPY AUG. 1969 recoveries were studied. Bile and urine levels were very high and urinary recovery was 51%. As the results of these studies were calculated as follows: T/2 was 0. 81 hour, DV 9. 4 L, Cr 88. 4 ml/min, Cb 3. 98 ml/min, Kr 0. 59 and Kb 0. 026. 3. Blood levels and urinary rec overies in adults were measured following a single intramuscular Ig dose. The highest blood level was 18. 2 mcg/ml after 30 minutes and urinary recovery was 44. 5%. 4. By quantitative precipitin reaction carbenicillin-bovine-gamma-globulin conjugate (CB PC-BGG) precipitated 33. 9% of antibenzylpenicilloyl-human-gamma-globulin (BPO-HGG), but CBPC-BGG showed a little cross reactivity against rabbit anti-cephalothin-human-serum-albumin. By reversed PCA reaction in guinea pigs, also, CBPC-BGG cross-reacted with anti-BPO-HGG. 5. Thirty-two patients with various infections wer e treated, receiving lg intramuscularly two times daily for 5-23 days. Fifteen cases were cured excellent on bacteriological findings. Urinary tract infections caused by Pseudomonas and Proteus were cured, however, respiratory infection caused by these organism were failed.
