For the purpose of getting the blown asphalt having good low temperature property (ductility), the relations between the blowing conditions and the low temperature properties were studied.<br>The target properties are; penetration 30, softening point >100°C, ductility at 0°C>2.0.<br>And the following results were obtained.<br>(1) The properties of asphalt were a little influenced by the rate of blowing air.<br>(2) The blowing temperature and the viscosity of raw material affected the asphalt properties.<br>(3) No asphalt having the target properties could be obtained by blowing the raw material from Kuwait crude under the various conditions such as raw material viscosity, blowing temperature and blowing air rate.<br>(4) When the viscosity of raw material was lower, the temperature of ductility 2.0 was lower at the high viscosity region, and the temperature of ductility 2.0 was higher at the low viscosity region.<br>(5) These phenomenon were explained by the change of colloidal structure, that is, the former phenomena was gelation and the latter was over gelation.
