Plastics are common insulators which cannot shield electromagnetic waves and can easily be charged by static electricity. To make conductive plastics, we propose a laminated coiled sheet shaving method. By winding of plastic and thin metal sheet herein simultaneously using a fabric manufacturing apparatus and cutting the ends we produce a plastic combined with metal fibers, of which plastics and metal fibers are found evenly distributed. The plastic/metal fibers thus obtained are put through a heated dice for melting and curing and are then cut into appropriate lengths to produce pellets for injection molding.<BR>Stainless steel of 3 vol% in mixing ratio was found to have a volume resistivity of approximately equal to or lower than that of the electromagnetic shields of level (100 Ω·cm). In addition, the tensile strength of the injection molding was found to be reduced within increasing the amount of metal fibers.
