Spermatozoa, and male and female somatic cells were stained with fluorochrome quinacrine mustard and the incidence of fluorescent bodies (F-body) was compared among these cells in the common voles. Fluorescent bodies were observed in 24.3% of the spermatozoa, 20% of the bone marrow cells and 17.7% of the lymphocytes in the male animals, respectively. However, such bodies were not observed in the female animals. F-bodies decreased to approximately one half in the somatic cells, when they were fixed with Carnoy's solution. Such bodies were observed mostly at the anterior part of the head of spermatozoa.
