Abstract
To maintain foxglove aphid (Aulacorthum solani) apterae viviparae clones, we determined whether life history parameters are degraded, and whether the morph emergence pattern changes, by rearing them on a lettuce leaf individually for more than100 successive generations. As results, none of the parameters was degraded, and the morph emergence pattern showed no change from the 5th generation. We suggest that30 aphids are sufficient for maintaining aphid colonies.
