The endotoxin of Escherichia coli was inoculated in the gingival tissue of mouse (ICR family) and the variation of T and B cell distribution in peripheral lymphonode was examined immunologically and chronologically. It is recognized that the complement (C3 and C5) activated by inoculating the endotoxin in gingival tissue was isolated to C3a and C5a in peripheral tissue. 1) The rate of T and B cells in peripheral lymphonode gradually increased after inoculation and reached a maximum on the third day. 2) A great number of infiltrated cells, which markedly fluoresced, were observed around blood vessel walls on the first day after inoculation. 3) The rate of complements (C3 and C5) in gingival tissue was a maximum on the first day and that of B lymphocytes in peripheral lymphonode on the third day. 4) It was confirmed by fluorescent antibody technique that the disintegration of complements depends on chemotaxcy of polymorphonuclear leucocyte and macrophage from blood vessel wall.
