抄録

The nonlinear dynamic analysis of travelling overhead cranes with Coulomb's between travelling wheels and rails is presented. The conventional method to estimate the maximum crane response by linear analysis and reduction due to the friction is not conservative in this study. The wheels repeat sliding and sticking on the rail depending on the response of the crane girder during the earthquake. The crane sliding displacement is not altered much by differences in the frictional force. The travelling buffers are required to have small spring constants and enough stroke to absorb the crane sliding displacement.
