Abstract

To develop more efficient technology in the propagation of hybrid larch (Larix Gmelini LEDEB.×L. leptolepis GORD.) F1, tissue culture was tried using cotyledon-epicotyl explants from sterilized hybrid germinants. On SCHENK and HILDEBRANDT medium (SH) with BAP (6-benzylaminopurine, 3mg/l) adventitious buds were induced on ex-plants in 7 to 8 weeks. Buts clusters were separated into individual buds and transferred to woody plant medium (WPM) without hormones. Some buds elongated into shoots and rooted in 10 to 12 weeks culture. However the others did not elongate bud or became brownish and died. The numbers of total divided cultures, elongated shoots, and rooted plantlets per explant (the average of 8 explants) in 42 weeks were 14.6, 8.5, and 6.3, respectively.
