説明

Laminography was first described in 1912 by Bocage, and various improvements have been introduced to it since that time. Nowadays the linear tomography is the common procedure, while the polytome and the circustomography have not become popularized because of their complicated mechanisms. Recently the multidirectional tomographic unit has been developed, which is possible to move on complex orbits. The aim of this paper is to describe the outline of the apparatus and the results of the ability tests. 1. The peduncular angle being slightly larger than the catalogue data, the orbit of this apparatus was accurate and revealed always same one. It is movement, moreover, was smooth. 2. Thickness of the sectioned surface was 3.8 mm, this being the thinnest at 40 degrees of the peduncular angle in the true circular orbit. 3. Orbital reappearance was the best in the spiral. Laminograms of a triangular column and a cylinder were clear in both the spiral and the hypocycloidal, while the strain was larger in the linear movement. 4. The clinical application of this apparatus to the paranasal cavity, the internal auditory canal and the chest revealed most satisfactory in the spiral, the true circular orbit being also of prectical value. Further investigation should be necessary for selection of the orbit according to organs.
