Abstract

This is a report on the fundamental investigation of Triosorb M-125 test, which is a simple method developed by Abbott Laboratories for measuring the triiodothyronine(T_3) in the blood. In this method the radioactive ^<125>I labeled T_3 is used and the values are corrected by the uptake ratio of the control serum. These are the points of difference from Triosorb test. The results of our fundamental investigation were as follows. 1) The T_3M values were more or less affected by the volume of the added serum. 2) The accuracy of the incubation temperature is not necessary. 3) The stable values were obtained for 20 to 30 minutes of incubation. 4) The exact volume of the serum being added, a extremely good reproducibility could be obtained. 5) The values determined by this method and Triosorb test showed a very good correlation(γ=0.94).
