Abstract
In press working, unidirectional transmission of mechanical energy is expected in order to maximize life of the conformer. To realize this phenomenon, a shock control system is developed on the basis of the sliding mode control technique. The controller makes a collision-receiving object effectively deform plastically by adjusting force of actuator inserted between colliding objects, while the deformation of colliding object is held in the necessity minimum. The effectiveness is confirmed by numerical simulation. However, the actuator has to generate a large force corresponding to the impulsive force. Therefore, development of such an actuator becomes a big challenge. Then, a semi-active shock control in which the impulsive force is adjusted by a brake mechanism, etc. is proposed, although the system exhibit inferior performance. An actuator adjusting the compression force between colliding objects is designed using a piezo-electric actuator. The effectiveness of semi-active shock controller is confirmed by model experiment.
