Abstract

Long sintered tubes were made by extrusion process using SUS316L water-atomized powder.<br>Their characteristics for sintered filters were compared with those made by conventional pressing process.<br>Results were summarized as follows:<br>1) The density and the radial crushing strength are uniformly distributed in sintered filters made by extrusion while they become lower in the center of the longitudinal direction in the pressed one.<br>2) The filtration grade and the pressure loss are also uniformly distributed in the extruded filters while the former becomes higher and the latter lower in the center of the longitudinal direction in the pressed one.<br>3) The radial crushing strength of the extruded filters is higher than that of pressed one in the same filtration grade.
