Abstract
The droplet transfer phenomena in the pulsed MAG welding and the principle of the transistor-controlled pulsed MAG welder are discussed.<br>The droplet transfer phenomena are classified into four modes, and in only one mode of them, the droplet is minimized and transferred to the base metal without much spatter. The transistor-controlled pulsed MAG welder can control the current waveform so fine that the optimum transfer mode can always be realized and the stable arc and the sound weld can easily be obtained.
