2004年に仙台で開催された第11回国際膵臓学会でIPMN/MCNの診断と治療に関するシンポジウムが企画され，会議後Clinical Questionに対する合意に基づく解答の形で診療ガイドラインが策定された．画像は国内の委員のものが構図も画質も優れ多く使用された．2005年3月に投稿しオンライン刊行は11月30日であった．これにより統一された定義のもとに臨床的，画像診断的，病理組織学的特徴の理解が進んで来ている．本邦の研究者は，その改訂に向けてとくにIPMNの病態解明に多くの役割を果たすことが期待されている．本稿にもIPMNについての問題点を列挙した．<br>
