Abstract

An calculation method for air cooled exchangers with water spray is presented.The phenomena of vaporization of water spray into air are analysed in the viewpoint of simultaneous heat and mass transfer on finned tubes.In the calculation method, it is assumed that air flow is saturated through the exchanger and finned tube surfaces are wetted homogeneously. Under suitable spray conditions, the transfer area calculated by this method are good agreed with the area of experimental apparatus.This indicates that the calculation method is proper to commercial exchanger design.
